Topic: News and Announcements only for Moderators?

Whenever I try to enter the News and Announcements forum, I get a message saying that only moderators may do so. I'm just wondering if this was an intended change, and if so, why?

I'll check...

EDIT: Knil had it set to moderators, I've changed it. You can view and reply, but hopefully you cannot post, only moderators and Admins can post new topics.

I can view that forum again now, thanks.

I'm confused though. I just noticed I'm now shown as a moderator, but I have no moderating powers and I still can't make topics in the News and Announcement forum.

You shouldn't be able to make topics in the News and Announcements forum although you should be able to reply to topics there. As for the moderator business, how are you shown as a moderator?

I'm shown as a moderator in the "Who is Online" section. I'm green.

But my rank isn't set to that, I have no moderator powers, and I can't post in News and Announcements. Confused

Was it a mistake to make me a moderator, or was it a mistake to not give me the powers of a moderator?

I'll go double check in admin panel.

EDIT: I haven't found anything different, I guess it is just you.

Aha! I've solved the mystery.
I was changing the settings on groups and ranks and noticed that you were in the Guide Writers group, which moderates the Guide Submission forum. That's why you were shown as a moderator. Wink
